I would like to extend a warm welcome to our new parents and students who will be joining us in 2010. Broken Hill High School is a diverse community which caters for all students and strives to meet and to encourage its students to meet its motto of "No reward Without Effort".
Our transition process has started and soon students will be visiting BHHS for mini lessons. Later in term 4 we will have our picnic day and school visit where all of the students attend together. Early in term 1 2010 we also hold a camp where we run the peer support program and other activities to allow students to "gell" as a group.
We are currently working closely with the primary schools to ensure the smoothest possible transition and are in the process of creating a special Transition coordinator role to assist with this task. The person appointed will start work in term 4 2009. One of their roles will be to assist us in class placements taking into account academic and social information from the primary schools.
As these details are finalised information will be sent home and published on this web site. Over the next term we will add information about next year, uniform requirements and other useful hints.
